Required Special Tools and Testing Equipment
- Window Release Tool -T10236-

- Torque Wrench 1783 - 2-10Nm -VAG1783-

Lock Carrier Cover, Removing and Installing
Removing
- Remove the luggage compartment floor panel cover from the vehicle.
- Remove the spare tire from the vehicle.
- Remove the inserts from the vehicle.

- Remove the clamping pin -1- using a
screwdriver with hex socket head (3 mm) and remove the expanding rivet
-2- with the Window Release Tool -T10236-.
- Remove the second securing element -3- as
described.

- Pull the cover over the securing eyes -arrow A-
in the direction of travel.
- Pull the cover upward out of the mounts in the cross panel
-arrow B-.
Installing
Note
Before the assembly, check the clips for damage and replace if necessary.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Make sure, that the trim panel is placed in the cover seal molding.
Side Luggage Compartment Trim Panel, Removing and Installing
Note
The following describes the removing and installing on the left side of the
vehicle. Removing and installing on the right side of the vehicle is identical.
Removing
- Remove the luggage compartment floor panel cover from the vehicle.
- Remove the spare tire from the vehicle.
- Remove the inserts from the vehicle.
- Remove the lock carrier cover.

- Remove the screw -1- from the side luggage
compartment trim panel (1.5 Nm).
- Remove the bracket -2-, as an alternative a
trim can be removed.

- Remove the screw -1- (1.5 Nm) in the
luggage compartment cover mount.

- Remove the retaining piece -1- (8 Nm), if
equipped.

- Remove the screw -1- (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the bolt -1- (8 Nm) and remove the
securing eye -2-, if equipped.

- Remove the trim -1- from the retainers in
the side panel and disconnect harness connectors from the Luggage
Compartment Lamp -W3- and the outlet.
Installing
Note
Before the assembly, check the clips for damage and replace if necessary.
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Make sure, that the trim panel is placed in the cover seal molding.
Upper Rear Lid Window Trim Panel, Removing and Installing
Removing
Remove the center trim panel -1- from the
mounts in the rear lid.
Remove the side trim panel from the mounts -2-
and -3-.
