Overview - Brake Pedal
WARNING
The path of the brake pedal must not be shortened by extra floor mats.
Before installing, lubricate all mounting points with grease, replacement
part number G 000 602.
- Mounting Bracket
- Hex Nut, Self-Locking
- 25 Nm
- Always replace if removed
- First tighten the hex nuts -A and B-.
- Noise Insulation on the Brake Pedal
- Allocation. Refer to the Parts Catalog
- Lock Washer
- Brake Pedal
- Clip the brake pedal to the brake booster push rod.
- Hex Nut, Self-Locking
- Cap
- Bearing Shell
- Mount
- For the brake booster push rod ball head
- Hex Bolt
- Bearing Bushing
- Mounting Pin
Brake Pedal, Disconnecting from Brake Booster
Special tools and workshop equipment required
Release Tool - Brake Servo -T10159- or Brake Servo Release Tool -T10159A-
- Remove trim on driver side.
- Press and hold the brake pedal in the direction of the brake booster.
- Push rod
- Retaining tabs
- Insert the Release Tool - Brake Servo -T10159- or Brake Servo Release
Tool -T10159A- and pull in the direction of the driver seat. While doing so,
counterhold on the brake pedal (at this moment the pedal must not move to
the driver seat). The mount retaining tabs -3-
will thereby be pressed off the ball head of the push rod
-2-.
The process of separating the brake pedal from the brake booster is shown
with the pedal assembly removed.
- Pull the Release Tool and brake pedal together in the direction of the
driver seat. (This will pull the brake pedal off of the push rod ball head).
Brake Pedal, Attaching to Brake Booster
- Hold the push rod ball head in front of the
mount and push the brake pedal toward the brake booster so that the ball
head engages audibly.
Install in reverse order of removal.

- Piston Resetting Tool -T10145-
- Release Tool - Brake Servo -T10159- or Brake Servo Release Tool

- Torque Wrench 1331 5-50Nm -VAG1331-
- Brake Pedal Actuator -VAG1869/2-.
- Vehicle Diagnostic Tester
- Diagnostic Cable -VAS5051/1- or Diagnostic Cable -VAS5051/3-
