Glass Panel

Note

• If there is a malfunction in the electrical system, the front sunroof glass panel can be moved manually using a commercially available hex wrench.
• Manually move the front glass panel until its front corner is flush with the front corner of the rear glass panel. If the glass panel is moved farther to the rear, the mechanism control cables can disengage

WARNING

A flat cable is bonded to the brace in the lamp opening in some versions. Loosen the flat cable from the brace and press it to the side when removing the sunroof opening. Make sure the flat cable is not damaged.

• Remove front light and control unit.
• Loosen the flat cable -5- on the brace -1- carefully.
• Move the flat cable far enough to the side -arrow- until it comes through the hole in the brace -3- using a commercially available hex wrench -4-.
• Guide the hex wrench -4- through the hole in the brace -1- and into the screw -3- in the sunroof motor -2- .

If turning by hand, more force will be needed since the motor is not disengaged from the drive.

Sun Shade

Note

If there is a malfunction in the electrical system, the sun shade on the sun shade motor can be moved manually using a commercially available hex wrench.

• Remove the headliner.
• Place the hex wrench -2- into the sun shade motor screw -1- .

If turning by hand, more force will be needed since the motor is not disengaged from the drive.

Water Drain Hoses, Cleaning

• Drain Snake -VAS6620-

Front Water Drain Hoses

The front water drain hoses run into the A-pillars and end in the plenum chamber. Cleaning takes place from the panorama sunroof opening.

Rear Water Drain Hoses

The rear water drain hoses run into the D-pillars and end in the rear wheel housings. Clean starting from the wheel housing and working outward. The wheel housing liner must be removed for this.

• Adhesive Strip Remover -VAS6349-

• Drain Snake -VAS6620-

• Roller -3356-
